Jon Hassell

Jon Hassell is an American trumpet player and composer active since the 1960s. He is best known for developing the concept of "Fourth World" music, which describes a "unified primitive/futurist sound" combining elements of various world ethnic traditions with modern electronic techniques. That concept was first articulated on his well renowned series named  Fourth World in which he collaborated with legendary composer & producer Brian Eno on the first volume.
