Dume is a 16-song album (2 LPs) by Neil Young with Crazy Horse from 1975, recorded during the Zuma recording sessions. It includes tracks and outtakes from Zuma. This album is included as CD #8 CD in Neil Young’s Archives Volume II. This is the debut release on vinyl.
Dume is a collection of 16 typically moving, emotionally arresting and compositionally impeccable tracks from the influential songwriter, capturing the period of bristling creativity in which Neil Young, Crazy Horse, and producer David Briggs lived, wrote and recorded in the Point Dume area of Malibu.
These sessions were the artistically liberated basis of what became Neil Young & Crazy Horse's 1975 album, Zuma, the name of the nearby beach where the band resided, and also the foundation of Dume. Young therefore intended Dume as an expansion of Zuma, remastering his favoured parts of the latter album and interspersing them with unreleased tracks and alternate mixes, providing each element with an entirely new context.
