Hendrik Lasure Warm Bad

There is no doubt pianist Hendrik Lasure is one of the greatest talents the Belgian jazz scene has known in the last decade. At the young age of 22, he already is somewhat of a living legend within an incredibly productive and creative Belgian jazz generation that is coming to prominence.

His big breakthrough came in 2016 when he released a well received album with drummer Casper Van De Velde under the name SCHNTZL. Together they explore the limits of jazz, minimalism, neo classical music and electronics. Not only did they win over the typical jazz audiences with their contemporary tunes: artists like Bent Van Looy and An Pierlé just as much showed their support from the very beginning. The latter was so charmed by both young musicians she instantly recruited them for her brand new An Pierlé Quartet.

On the occasion of JazzLab Series and W.E.R.F. Records' 25th birthday, Hendrik was asked to launch a new project in 2018. He gathered his personal dream team and founded 'warm bad', a seven-headed ensemble featuring Sam Comerford (saxophone), Vitja Pauwels (guitar), Benjamin Sauzerau (guitar), Marco Giongrandi (guitar), Soet Kempeneer (bass), Casper Van De Velde (drums) and Hendrik Lasure himself on piano and vocals.
