Tupac Shakur founded this group as a philosophy of life .

The acronym THUG LIFE stands for: The Hate U Gave Little Infants Fucks Everybody. 
Shakur didn't see the definition of a thug as a being a criminal, but rather saw them as people who came from an oppressive or poor background with little opportunity but still made a life for themselves being proud.
