Description

Eclectic London-based post-punks Warmduscher extend their excellent run of form with their fifth studio album Too Cold To Hold. The all-out mania of their earliest albums gave way on 2022’s At The Hotspot to something slightly less volatile but no less thrilling and irreverent, and that slight evolution continues here, blending mutant funk and hip-hop with post-punk menace.

Too Cold To Hold is released on Friday 15th November 2024 via Strap Originals, the band’s first for the label, and it features several guests including Irvine Welsh, Lianne La Havas, Confidence Man’s Janet Planet, Jeshi and CouCou Chloe. 

Comprised of Clams Baker Jr., Benjamin Romans Hopcraft, Adam J. Harmer, Marley Mackey, Quinn Whalley, and Bleu Ottis Wright, Too Cold To Hold is undoubtedly their best and most ambitious album to date. Taking on board the repetitive and polyrhythmic grooves of gqom (an alluring South African take on house music), adding in a dash of hip hop flavours and even jazz, and then harnessing that to their punk-funk, disco pogo, it’s a spellbinding mix.
