De Kommeniste
De Kommeniste was a Belgian punk band that was active in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
The group was founded in the late 1970s in Antwerp with singer and guitarist Marc Meulemans, bassist Herman Tallein, lead guitarist Mark Meulemans and drummer Bob Campenaerts. They chose the most non-commercial band name to convey their anti-establishment stance, and deliberately misspelled it to show they didn't take themselves seriously either.
A major influence was Talking Heads, although they have also provided support for The Cure and Joy Division.
