In her own words, Naima Joris guesses she sings saudade, a mixture of feelings of loss, homesickness and hopeless love. Feelings  she experienced early in life. She brings a repertoire of both her own songs and interpretations, intended to bring comfort and tranquility. She only sang her first songs at the age of 27. She wanted to escape into nature with a mini camper, a guitar and her dog, her best friend. Being a street musician was the first survival plan. However, a few months later she sang with Isbells in the AB. The camper never came, the journey turned in. The dog died. Her sister died. Her voice tells the story.
