Lost in the vaults 'Panna Cotta' resurfaced in Marco Carola's recent sets off of a CD Mathew made for friends in 2003. After multiple mails and YouTube links sent from Marco's fans it spurred Mathew to look into the old collections and find the masters. The track was untitled so chances of finding it were at first thought to be slim. As fate would have it though it would be the first out of hundreds of CD's only labeled '2003 that Mathew picked from the box in his search.
"Panna Cotta" recalls more up-to-the-minute Jonson sides like "Learning to Fly" and "Daze," with prickly synth programming skipping over crisp, lockstep drums. Slower and shades darker, "Passage to the Other Side" is a simply devastating floor-filler, with a fat bassline tempered by ethereal, rising synth textures that burst into digital dust once they hit a certain altitude.
Forget the decade between germination and official release; these tunes have arrived right on time.
