If patience would be an Olympic sport, Float Fall would easily take home the gold. It took Brussels based duo Ruben & Rozanne no less than eight years to go from presenting themselves with the single ‘Someday’ (2013) to get their debut full length album ready for release.
And back in 2013 their future looked bright: ‘Someday’ got picked up by the then influential blogger Perez Hilton, became an indie hit and resulted in a worldwide deal with a major label. The two continued to work on new songs, recording in Los Angeles with the likes of Joey Waronker, known from R.E.M., Beck and Atoms For Peace. But there was no record…
After resolving more legal issues, the record was finally finished in 2019, slated for a release early 2020, but then Covid hit… Murphy and his frikkin’ law…
But now, after years of excitation and turmoil, the first album of Float Fall is REALLY DONE and will be released!
Warm melancholics moods, songs about letting go and getting close. About intense grief and passionate love wrapped in crisp beats, echoing guitars and Ruben & Rozannes stunning harmonizing voices.
“A celebration of love”, says Ruben, “Sometimes light, sometimes dark. But never without hope.”
