Released in the summer of 2016 by the Teutonic tastemakers, Jakarta Records, Pomrad’s ‘Knights’ is a feast of synthesized bounce that never gives way to monotony.

The album moves seamlessly from the classic (‘City Lights’, ‘Dans’ ‘Rush Hour’ featuring Steve Kashala, cheekily irresistible Popping anthem ‘French Kissing’..) to the contemporary (‘A Million Ways’, featuring Selah Sue; ingeniously chopped-and-screwed ‘All We Got’ with Sylvie Kreusch).

More frequently the record signals something less binary and more inter-generational (the titular ‘Knights’, ‘Key Target’ and chameleonic party jam ‘Out Like A Light’ feat. Billie). ‘The past is forever filtering into the present’ the Antwerp-based producer seems to be telling us ‘This is just my contribution to that tradition’.
