The first four Echo & the Bunnymen albums are available on vinyl as part of the reissue campaign. The third Porcupine record from 1983 is the post-punk band's most successful record in terms of placement in the UK album charts, where it reached number two. Echo & the Bunnymen is a British post-punk band founded in 1978 in Liverpool. The original line-up was Ian McCulloch, guitarist Will Sergeant and bassist Les Pattinson. Shortly afterwards, drummer Pete de Freitas joined the band and they recorded their first album called Crocodiles. McCulloch left the band in 1988 and was replaced by Noel Burke. Drummer Freitas died in 1989 and was replaced by Damon Reece. Keyboardist Jake Brockman was still in the band for some time. The group disbanded in 1993, but was reunited in 1996 by McCulloch, Sergeant and Pattinson. The latter left shortly afterwards, and since then the group has acted as a duo.
