Description

Dead Club City is the fourth studio album by the British alternative rock band Nothing but Thieves, released June 30, 2023. The album contains eleven songs. The album followed the 2020 album Moral Panic. Before its publication on June 30, 2023, the band already released the singles Welcome to the DCC, Overcome, Keeping You Around and Tomorrow Is Closed in March, May, June and July. Initially, the album was scheduled to be released a week later on July 7, but that date was later brought forward. The album is (loosely translated) about the 'Dead Club City', a members club the size of a city, and characters and storylines in and around that city. In a press release, the band said: "Welcome to the DCC, Dead Club City. All the Heaven, all the time." When creating the album, the band members were inspired by songs by Prince, rhythm and blues and music from the eighties. At the end of January 2024, the band announced a deluxe version of the album containing the songs Oh No :: He Said What?, Time :: Fate :: Karma :: God and Pure You, in addition to stripped versions of Tomorrow Is Closed and Overcome. The album was released on March 15 that year. An "Extended Deluxe" edition was released in July with three live recordings.
